Can you explain the potency scales of homeopathy?

Homeopathy starts with a drop of a tincture of the chosen remedy. That drop is put into 99 drops of water and succussed (shaken). This first serial dilution is a 1C. Then one drop of the 1C is put into 99 drops of water and succussed. This is now a 2C. These serial dilutions and successions continue and the remedy gets stronger. The more diluted the remedy the deeper it goes into the life force. ‘M’ potencies are 1000th of a dilution. ‘CM’ potency is 10,000th of a dilution. The ‘LM’ potency is a completely different scale of 1/50,000 of a dilution. These LM remedies are taken more frequently and can be used with very suppressed and complex cases. The ‘X’ potency is 1 to 10 dilutions. The style of Hahnemann homeopathy that I have studied finds ‘X’ potencies too crude to use.
